Sea day and disembarkation

Yesterday was our final sea day, very chilled with a lunchtime adult beverage and no lunch😂 . We packed up the cases and headed out for early pre dinner drinks.

Lovely dinner chatting to our dinner neighbours when the Captain comes over the tannoy with another announcement at 9.20pm to say he has been advised that it is the Isle of Wight round the island annual yacht race on disembarkation day and the channel into Southampton will be closed from 6am ish to 9.30am ish and we won’t make it back in time therefore we will be delayed. A big sigh went round the dining room. The advice was if you are on a Princess flight package you will be sorted and advised of the changed times. Everyone else would get free Wi-Fi and phone usage to sort out your onward travel. We had our car at Southampton so we were ok. You can imagine folk were not impressed as we were advised that expected docking time would be 11.30am.

People seemed to stay up later drinking and dancing as they no longer had an early start.

The following morning was a lazy start and watching the yachts in the Solent from the balcony. To disembark the ship on docking in Southampton it was a bit of a “free for all” and not upto the usual Princess standard. We were soon in the car and on our way home.
